Close Account

You can permanently close your Rev account from your Account Settings page on rev.com. Closing your account can’t be undone, so read what happens below before you start. If you only want to stop paying for a subscription, cancel your subscription instead. See Subscription Management.

Account closure is permanent and cannot be undone. Please ensure you have backups of all your files before closing your account.

What Happens When You Close Your Account

Closing your account is permanent and can’t be undone. When you close it:

  • You permanently lose access to your files, transcripts, captions, subtitles, and translations.
  • You lose your projects, billing history, and support messages, and any team members you invited are removed.
  • Any integrations linked to your account are disconnected.
  • Any paid subscription is canceled right away, and you lose its benefits immediately. You won’t be refunded for the rest of the billing period. To keep your plan until the end of the billing period, cancel your subscription first and close your account after it ends.
  • Any prepaid balance on your account is forfeited.

You can create a new Rev account later with the same email address, but it won’t include any of your previous files or order history.

Before You Close Your Account

  • Download anything you want to keep. Files and transcripts can’t be recovered after your account is closed.
  • Wait for any open orders to finish. You can’t close your account while an order is pending or in progress.
  • Pay any outstanding balance. Accounts with an unpaid balance can’t be closed.
  • On a shared account: authorized users and authorized managers can close their own login. Closing it removes you from the shared account.

If you have a positive balance on your account, the balance will be forfeited.

How to Close Your Account

  1. Go to your Account Settings page on rev.com.

  2. On the My account tab, select Close account, below your personal information.

  3. In the Account Closure window, review what you’ll lose, then type CLOSE in capital letters.
  4. Select Close Account Forever. To keep your account, select Never mind, I’d like to keep my account.
