Q: Can I automatically record calls?

Due to Apple's restrictions, apps are not allowed to record calls automatically.

However, you can record calls in just a few simple steps with our app if you don't mind giving it a try. Here's how:

  1. Open the app
  2. Press the green "Start Recorded Call" button
  3. Select if it’s an Outgoing or Incoming call
  4. Enter the number you want to call
  5. Press 'Call' to connect to Rev's recorder when prompted
  6. Press 'Call' again to dial your call
  7. After your call connects, merge the calls to start recording

Q: Can you record international calls?

Our Call Recorder App is only able to record calls in the United States and Canada.

Q: How do I import from TapeACall?

The Rev Call Recorder is good for recording any future phone calls that you have and getting them transcribed. But it doesn't have an import feature yet.

If you'd like to export your recordings from TapeACall, the best solution at the moment would be to download our Voice Recorder app.

Once you've downloaded the Voice Recorder, here's how to export your recording from TapeACall:

  1. Open the TapeACall app
  2. Select the recording
  3. Click on the share button on the bottom right
  4. Select ‘Share the Audio File’
  5. Click on ‘Copy to Recorder’ (you may have to scroll a bit to the left before you can find this in the share menu)
  6. And that’s it! The Voice Recorder will automatically open with the newly imported recording.

If you'd like more details, feel free to check out this post (scroll to the bottom).

Please note: the app, by default, has a 2-party legal disclosure message that will play to let the other party know they are being recorded. In certain states, it is illegal to record someone without their consent, so it's important to adhere to your State Recording Laws. If you live in a 1-party consent state, you may disable this recording via the settings, by toggling off the 2-party legal disclosure.
