Legal Solutions Fall Release

Launch Date: Oct 2, 2024

Can I start ordering Trials transcripts right away?

Yes, we have a template for you to use, which is 25 lines with 56 characters per page.

How does “Pick Your Date” work?

Once you have processed your audio and supplementary documents for your proceeding, you will continue on to the “Order Detail” page where you will select the type of transcript you need - Instant Rough, Human Rough, or Ready to Certify - selecting one or multiple. For each transcript type, you will have the chance to select the date for which you need the files delivered back to you.

With this new functionality, gain the confidence in specific window delivery to dynamically prioritize your transcript based on your customer’s needs.

Note: Transcripts will be delivered by 11:59 PM ET on the selected delivery date. This applies to all standard and expedited orders. We suggest that if you need a file before midnight, that you select the previous delivery date to ensure we help you hit your deadlines.

Why are you shifting to new standard turnaround times?

We’re updating our standard turnaround times in an effort to better align with industry standards and to improve our operational efficiencies.

When I pick a date for my transcription order and find out I need it sooner, what should I do?

We understand that your timelines can change on short notice. Currently, the originally requested turnaround time cannot be changed on our site. To request a faster turnaround time than initially ordered, please contact legalsupport@rev.com with the order number and new desired delivery date.

Our team will reply during business hours to advise if we will be able to accommodate your request.  If we are able, turnaround time and pricing will be adjusted accordingly upon invoicing.

Note: When a turnaround time is changed after an order has been placed, the original delivery date on the order will not update to the new delivery date. This is normal and the email confirmation from our Support team will confirm the delivery date we can have your file back by.

Can the new order placement workflow handle custom templates for my Trials?

At this time, we only offer custom templates for customers with established contracts. If you would like to learn more about our enterprise services for our Legal Solutions, please reach out to our sales team.

For clients on contract, we are able to provide customized templates based on your organization’s preferences, in addition to any jurisdictional requirements. For more information, contact your Customer Success representative or send an email to legalsupport@rev.com

What file types do you support for audio?

We support many audio and video files formats. Most commonly shared:

  • .mp3
  • .wav
  • .aac
  • .ogg
  • .flac
  • .wma
  • .m4a
  • .ape
  • .trm

What limitations does your multichannel audio support have?

When combining multiple audios of the same session into a single recording*:

  • File length - All file lengths must be the same
  • File combination limit - 16

*Example: You have 8 audio files, each from a different microphone captured in the same proceeding.

When uploading a file that has multiple channels in it**:

  • File channel limit - 16

*Example: You have 8 audio channels all being recorded to a single audio file.

How can I ensure I place my order with Multichannel audio correctly?

Organize files in the order they should be stitched in these two common scenarios:

  • Once files are uploaded, you can drag and drop them into the correct order.
  • Organize the files in the correct order on your device in a folder and then batch upload them - our upload system will maintain the same file ordering.

Our system will automatically order your .trm (FTR) files in sequential order based on file name, but I would recommend triple checking after it's done in case there are any unusually named files to make sure everything looks correct

  • Name your files in sequence: ahead of uploading your audio files, we suggest you have a naming convention for your files that aid in your manual sorting during order placement.
  • Double checking your file order: If you happen to have one file that does not conform to the file naming structure, upload the conforming files first and the non-comforming last. You’ll be able to adjust the order of the non-conforming without having to reorganize the rest.

Note: learn more about our Multi-channel audio support in our latest Release Note

What are standard turnaround times for Legal Transcriptions?*

  • AI Transcriptions available are typically available within 30 minutes of order placement
  • Human Rough Draft available in 3 business days
  • Ready to Certify available in 7 business days

*Rush services available during checkout - ask your customer service representative for details and rates

What turnaround times are available for selection?

For Human Rough, we offer 0-3 business day delivery. For Ready to Certify, we offer 0-7 business day delivery.*

*Same day delivery is available based on file length, time of order, and current availability.

My desired turnaround time option is grayed out. What does that mean?

Our new rush offering was built in a way to offer more specificity and confidence on order turnaround times. To ensure we can deliver on this for you, our system will calculate a few components and determine the options we are able to offer. We consider the length of the proceeding, the time of day for which you are submitting your order, and then a few layers of operational magic to ensure we are offering dates that are feasible. If an item is grayed out, it means we are past our standard cutoff time for that offering. In some cases, we can make exceptions to these. If you would like to see if an exception can be made, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager and we will explore if we can accommodate.

I’m experiencing an issue when uploading Zip Folders - how can I resolve?

If a zip file can't be processed for some reason, customers will see an error message that says "An error occurred while unzipping <filename.zip>". The recommended solution is to suggest the customer unzip the file themselves on their computer, and then drag and drop the audio it contains into the Main Audio/Video file upload zone.
