Rev's AI features help you understand what's in your recordings without having to read every word or listen to every minute. Here's how to use these powerful tools with any single recording.
AI Prompts
Click on any of your transcribed files to open them in the Transcript Editor. The editor will automatically open in the AI Prompts tab. This is your starting point for AI analysis.
AI prompts are like pre-written questions that Rev automatically creates based on what's in your recording. They're designed to give you instant summaries and analysis without you having to think of what to ask.
Under Select an AI Prompt you can see all available AI Prompt options. Click on any prompt that interests you to see what Rev finds. Each prompt is tailored to work well with your specific type of content.
Click on Show more to see additional AI prompts.
You can then click on +more to scroll through the full list of available AI prompts.
Or search for a specific AI prompt using the Search all AI prompts search bar.
Once you click a prompt, Rev's AI will:
- Analyze your entire recording in seconds
- Generate a summary or analysis based on what you requested
- Show you the results right on your screen
The AI gives you useful summaries that you can:
- Read directly on screen for quick understanding

AI Chat
Click on any of your transcribed files to open them in the Transcript Editor. AI Chat is located on the left panel in the editor, below your video/audio preview.
Using Pre-Populated Questions
AI Chat comes with ready-made questions that Rev thinks you might want to ask based on your content:
- Questions appear automatically based on what Rev detected in your recording
- Click any pre-written question to get an instant answer
Asking Your Own Custom Questions
Beyond the suggested questions, you can type your own questions in the chat box and click Enter to find exactly what you're looking for.
Getting the Most Useful Answers
Be Specific:
- Instead of "What happened?" ask "What happened during the first 10 minutes?"
- Instead of "Who talked?" ask "What did the manager say about the budget?"
Ask About People:
- "What was [person's name]'s main concern?"
- "Did [person] agree with the decisions made?"
Look for Details:
- "What specific numbers or dates were mentioned?"
- "Were there any action items assigned to specific people?"
Find Problems:
- "Was anyone confused about the instructions?"
- "Were there any disagreements or tensions?"
Use-case Examples
- Uncover key points and topics to be translated into action items or high-level recaps and knowledge transfers.
- Pull quotes and highlights to incorporate into presentations, case studies, articles, and other proof of concept materials.
- Identify recurring themes and main ideas that can be transformed into goals, focus statements, issue identification, or content headlines.
- Compile quantitative data on the transcript and transcript summary like the number of participants, and analytics for any numerical information included in the transcript text file.
- Broadcast a uniform, accurate message across a variety of marketing channels, including websites, social media, blogs, and more.
- Create actionable, relevant content based on topics and key points uncovered by AI Transcript Assistant.
- Pinpoint strategies and guidelines for product marketing, brand, or messaging, building the ideal narrative to engage the desired audience.
