Please note: While Auto Pull is turned on, Rev will continue to pull ALL uploaded videos and charge your payment method on file for new orders. This setting can be turned on and off at any time by you.

Placing a Rev order from Vimeo's platform

  1. Choose your video from the Library and select the [CC] button from panel on the left. Select Closed captions and then the Settings tab.

  2. Select the box that says “Order captions and subtitles perfected by Rev’s team of experts”.Rev.png

  3.  Then, select the Order captions with Rev button.

  4. Select the options you need for your video. Please note that Rev is only able to transcribe videos in English.

  5. Once you’ve finalized your order details, click Checkout. You will be prompted to log in to your Rev account or create a new one in order to proceed.

  6. After you have signed in to Rev, you’ll be taken to the Payment screen. Once your order has been placed, Rev will email you a copy of your receipt (which you can also find in your Rev account).

  7. You will see the option to link your Rev and Vimeo accounts. Doing so will enable Rev to send your caption file directly to your Vimeo video.
⚠️Note: Make sure the checkbox “Automatically deliver files back to Vimeo” is selected in order to ensure that your caption/subtitle file is automatically uploaded to your video.

  8. When Rev’s team has finished creating your captions or subtitles, the transcription file will be automatically added to your video if you have linked your Rev and Vimeo Accounts (turnaround time varies based on languages requested and length of your video, but typically will be between 24 and 48 hours.)

Video-to-Vimeo Upload FAQ

Are there any requirements for this process to work?

Yes, there are a few requirements. Your video must have been uploaded to Rev directly or sent in via an external URL. Videos submitted to Rev through any integration (API excluded), will not cooperate with this process. In addition, this process will only work for videos submitted to Rev for captioning or subtitles that are in a delivered, completed state.

Can Rev upload a copy of my video with the captions burned in using this process?

At this time, that is not possible. Rev will upload the video and the sidecar captions as separate files to the same destination.

What kind of quality will my uploaded video be in?

The video that you see in the captions editor is the same copy that Rev will upload on your behalf. The copy could potentially be a lower-resolution copy than the original video provided when the order was placed, however, these copies are sufficient for most online use.

Can Rev send these videos automatically?

Not yet. We aren't sure if this will be automated in the future, but for now, they must be manually triggered by visiting the Rev website and following the steps listed in the section above.
