Vimeo Integration
Rev’s Vimeo integration lets you order captions and subtitles for your Vimeo videos without downloading them. Rev can add the finished files to your videos automatically. You can pick videos at checkout, turn on Auto Pull to caption new videos automatically, or order from inside Vimeo. You can also send a captioned video from Rev to your Vimeo account. You can link more than one Vimeo account.

Order Captions for Your Vimeo Videos
- Start a caption order: go to the caption order page, or select Human-verified services in the left sidebar and choose captions.
-
Under Pull videos directly from your account, click Vimeo.
-
Click Allow to give Rev access to your Vimeo account.
-
Select the videos you want captioned, then click Add Selected to Cart.
-
Choose your options and check out. The option to send captions back to Vimeo automatically is already selected.
Turn On Auto Pull
With Auto Pull on, Rev orders captions for each new public or unlisted video as soon as it’s available in Vimeo. Private videos aren’t pulled. Every pulled video is a paid order charged to your payment method on file, so turn Auto Pull on only if you want all new videos captioned.
-
Go to Settings > My Integrations.
-
Next to your Vimeo account, click Edit.
-
Set Auto Pull to Enabled, then click Update.
To stop, set Auto Pull to Disabled and click Update.
Order Captions From Vimeo
-
In your Vimeo Library, open the video and select Captions in the left panel, then the Settings tab.
- Select Order captions and subtitles perfected by Rev’s team of experts, then click Order captions with Rev.
- Choose your options and click Checkout. Rev only captions English-language videos.
- Sign in to Rev or create an account, then pay. Rev emails your receipt.
-
Link your Rev and Vimeo accounts when prompted, and leave Automatically deliver files back to Vimeo selected so the captions are added to your video.
Captions usually arrive in 24 to 48 hours, depending on the video’s length and the languages you ordered.
Send a Video and Captions to Vimeo
You can send a completed caption or subtitle order to Vimeo. Rev uploads the video and the caption file as separate files. This works for videos you uploaded to Rev or added by link, not videos ordered through another integration. You can start from My Files or from the caption editor.
Send From My Files
-
In My Files, click the ⋯ menu next to the file and select Send to Vimeo.
-
If your accounts aren’t linked yet, click Allow to link them. You can create a Vimeo account at this step.
-
Choose your Vimeo account and click Upload to Vimeo. Your Vimeo privacy settings apply.
-
Choose a default Folder, and a Team if you belong to more than one, then click Next. Vimeo only asks the first time.
- Check the upload’s progress in your Vimeo account.
Send From the Caption Editor
- Open the video in the caption editor from My Files.
- Click the Vimeo icon in the top-right corner of the editor.
-
If your accounts aren’t linked yet, click Allow to link them.
-
Choose your Vimeo account and click Upload to Vimeo. Your Vimeo privacy settings apply.
-
Choose a default Folder, and a Team if you belong to more than one, then click Next.
- Check the upload’s progress in your Vimeo account.
Disconnect and Reconnect Vimeo
If videos aren’t showing up or captions aren’t delivered, disconnect and reconnect your accounts:
-
On My Integrations, click Unlink next to your Vimeo account.
-
Click Link New Account.
-
Select Vimeo and click Link Account, then allow access in Vimeo.
If you have more than one Vimeo account, connect the one that hosts the videos you want captioned.
Send to Vimeo FAQ
Are there any requirements for this process to work?
Yes, there are a few requirements. Your video must have been uploaded to Rev directly or sent in via an external URL. Videos submitted to Rev through any integration (API excluded), will not cooperate with this process. In addition, this process will only work for videos submitted to Rev for captioning or subtitles that are in a delivered, completed state.
Can Rev upload a copy of my video with the captions burned in using this process?
At this time, that is not possible. Rev will upload the video and the sidecar captions as separate files to the same destination.
What kind of quality will my uploaded video be in?
The video that you see in the captions editor is the same copy that Rev will upload on your behalf. The copy could potentially be a lower-resolution copy than the original video provided when the order was placed, however, these copies are sufficient for most online use.
Can Rev send these videos automatically?
No. Send each video from My Files or the caption editor.
