You can now upload text documents directly to your account and analyze them using AI. Chat directly with your text documents using the AI Assistant or pull them into multi-file insights to identify patterns, surface inconsistencies, and answer specific questions across multiple text, audio, and/or video files. Whether you're working with interviews, meeting recordings, police reports, witness statements, or case documents, text uploads help you build the complete picture faster.
Please note: Uploading text documents is currently in beta. While we're continuously improving the experience, you may encounter occasional issues or limitations as we refine the feature.
Text Files
To get started, upload your TXT or PDF documents directly into your Rev account to access them and gain valuable insights through AI chat. This expands Rev beyond just audio and video files, allowing you to work with all your important documents in one place.
You can upload your files by using the upload box on the home screen of your account or the Add button in the top right corner.
Once you've uploaded your files, you'll receive a confirmation and the option to edit the location of the file. By default, files will be saved to the My Files folder.
Shareable Clips
When you save a shareable clip from the online editor, the clip is saved to the folder where the transcript is located. It saves as a standalone file that you can analyze directly using the AI Assistant or use as one of your files in a multi-file insight.
Using AI Assistant with Text Documents and Clips
Once you’ve uploaded the documents you’d like to work with, open the document or clip. The AI Assistant will open with the AI chat box on the left and your file on the right. The options to share and download your file will be at the top of the viewer. You can click on the suggested questions or type your own in the box at the bottom of the chat.
Press Enter/Return on your keyboard or click on the purple arrow to send your question.
Multiple Files
The most powerful capability that these new features unlock is the ability to analyze multiple files simultaneously—combining audio transcripts, video files, PDFs, and text documents in a single analysis. This allows you to:
- Identify inconsistencies between different sources and statements
- Surface critical gaps between narratives across multiple documents
- Build comprehensive arguments by connecting evidence from various file types
- Uncover patterns that might be missed when reviewing files individually
- Create a complete story by stitching together insights from all your sources
For example, you could analyze witness statements alongside police reports, interview recordings, and case documents all at once to quickly spot discrepancies, strengthen your position, or identify areas that need further investigation.
You can include clips, TXT or PDF documents, transcripts, audio, and video in any combination when using multi-file insights.
