Note: Rev Live Captions will only be available to Zoom Users nominated under the Manage Users section in your Zoom Live Captions settings page in Rev. Rev account Owners can add and remove access to any Zoom User in their Zoom Account at any time.
Host 1. Ensure your Zoom “Closed captioning” and “Custom Live Streaming Service” settings are enabled.
Note: these settings should already be enabled by your Zoom account Owner or Admin during the Rev Live Captions set up process. Once enabled, these settings should persist and should not need to be changed again.
- Navigate to your Zoom settings page.
-
In the "In Meeting (Advanced)" section, find the "Closed captioning" option and click the toggle to turn it on.
- Ensure the “Allow use of caption API Token to integrate with 3rd-party Closed Captioning services” setting is selected so Rev Live Captions can join your meetings.
-
Ensure the “Enable live transcription service to show transcript on the side panel in-meeting” checkbox is unselected as this could interfere with Rev Live Captions.
Note: Zoom turns on the 'Save Captions' setting automatically when you turn on 'Closed Captions'. With this setting enabled, all meeting participants will have the option to save the meeting transcript locally to their computer.
- In the “In Meeting (Advanced)” section, find the “Allow live streaming meetings” and click the toggle to turn it on. Then, click the check box next to “Custom Live Streaming Service”. Leave the “specific instructions” input box blank.
Note: Zoom allows only one live streaming service for any given meeting. Disabling other live streaming services at the account level is not required to use Rev Live Captions, but may be useful to prevent unwanted interference.
Host 2. Host a Zoom Meeting.
- Start a Zoom Meeting as the Zoom Host. Rev Live Captions will automatically join your Meeting soon after, and all Meeting participants will see a red “LIVE” indicator in the upper left corner of the Zoom window.
- Rev Live Captions will only become available after the Host joins the meeting – and not before. After the host leaves the meeting, Rev Live Captions will not be available.
