How do I adjust the timecode in my file to match my burned-in timecode?
You can offset the start time of your timecode easily in our online editor. Click the red Download button in the upper right, then click Advanced Options at the bottom of the format list. This opens a box that allows you to adjust the start time of your file, down to the millisecond. By default, all files are delivered with 00:00:00 timecodes. If you had running timecode that started at 24 minutes, you would change this to 00:24:00:00.
This opens a pop-up that allows you to adjust the start time of your file, down to the second. By default, all files are delivered with 00:00:00 timestamps. If you had running timecode that started at 24 minutes, you would change this to 00:24:00. If you need a one-hour offset, you would change it to 01:00:00:00.
You can also adjust timecodes when downloading a file from your order page, which can be accessed in your Order History. Click your order number, then click Download next to the file name. You will see the same advanced option to offset the timecodes at the bottom of the popup that appears. Once you've set the new start time, click the red Download button and your downloaded file will contain your offset timecodes.
If you need a negative offset for your timecode (moving the start time backward instead of forward), please contact our support team at support@rev.com and they'll be happy to help with this.
Individual timecodes within the caption file are not editable, and any offset changes will apply to the entire file.
