The free Rev Voice Recorder pairs convenient voice recording with simple transcription services, making it the best friend of journalists everywhere. It's available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
The app is free to download, but you must create an account to record. Accounts are free and you have the option of placing a transcription order right from the app if you'd like.
VoiceHub
The Rev voice recorder for Voicehub has different features such as automatic file and meeting syncing. If you have a Voicehub subscription, please visit the VoiceHub Mobile App article.
Voice Recorder
To get started:
- Download the app to your device
- Create a Rev account or sign in to your existing account
- Press the purple Plus Sign button.
- Press Record audio - the recording will start immediately
- When you're done, press Pause
- You can press Resume if you need to resume your recording, or press Save to name the file and save it
- There is also a Save and Transcribe option if you'd like to purchase a transcript of your recording.
If you need to delete a recording, just open it in the app by pressing View and then press the trash can icon in the upper right. You can also share recordings from this screen by clicking the share icon.
You can also upload your saved recordings from your device to our app.
To upload your recordings to our app:
- Press the purple Plus Sign
- Select Upload Media
- This will take you to your device's internal storage where you can select the recording that you would like to upload
- Once uploaded you can view or transcribe your recording
There are 4 categories to view your recordings from the Recordings tab: All, Transcribed, In-Progress, and Cancelled.
The Voice Recorder does not record phone calls, but we have a free iOS call recording app, Rev Call Recorder, available in the Apple App Store.
Recordings are only stored on the app through your device unless you export them.
Please note that uninstalling the app will remove your recordings.
