Listening
By having "good ears", you can help identify portions of the audio that are not as clear as other areas. This may be due to background noise, cross-talking, or just poor microphone placement. Paying close attention and listening to all that is recorded on the audio, will help ensure that the finished transcript is complete & accurate.
Research
Believe it or not, Google can be a Revver's best friend. You may find yourself completing an audio file that contains unfamiliar words, proper nouns, or phrases that you are not familiar with. A quick internet search can make sure that you are using the correct words and terminology.
Attention to Detail
Every great Revver knows the importance of proofreading. By reviewing your project before you submit it, you can check to make sure that everything is accurate, reads clearly, and conforms to the applicable Style Guide for your service line (transcription, captioning, or translation)
Adherence to Style Guidelines
The most successful Revvers always refer to Rev's style guide and accompanying Help Center articles and use available resources to continue to improve their speed and accuracy. This may include practicing in tutorials, and/or practice jobs.
Punctuation
Every great Revver knows the importance of punctuation. By reviewing your work before you submit it, you can check to make sure that your punctuation is correct and that the project is accurate and very readable.
