Transcription Application Sections

If your application did not have the sections that you were expecting to see, that's okay. There are multiple versions of the application and not all applicants see the same one.

Once you have submitted your application, we will notify you as to whether or not you have been accepted. This can take a few weeks or a few months, depending on our project availability. We appreciate your patience.

 


Captions Application Information

If you receive a link to continue your captions application and the link doesn't work, you can resume your application directly from the website. To do this, be sure to use a computer or laptop and navigate to https://www.rev.com/freelancers and then enter the same information you used when applying. As long as the information is exactly the same, the system will allow you to resume your in-progress application.

 

 

Subtitles Application Information

Age and Location

You must be 18 years of age or older to freelance at Rev.

You must be physically located in an accepted country and have an ID from an accepted country. You can find more information on where Rev accepts freelancers from in our Help Center here: https://support.rev.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041072351-How-Do-I-Apply-as-a-Freelancer-

We do not have any further information regarding if, or when, this list might be updated.

If the system determines you are not physically located in an accepted region, we're not able to override this.

 

 

Technical Issues with Application

Our application process is set to save so you can resume at a later time. If you've navigated away from the application, all you need to do is enter the same information used to start the application at the following link and it will pick up where you left off in the application: https://www.rev.com/freelancers

 

Please make sure you're using Google Chrome on a computer with a keyboard, not a tablet nor a smartphone. Rev's software works best with the latest version of the Chrome browser, followed by Opera. We also recommend using headphones or earbuds for the best audio quality. Please go through all the tutorials, including the Editor demo video as well as reviewing the Style Guide as you complete the application process.

 

If you're seeing blue popup bubbles with prompts such as "Press Enter," all the prompts must be performed, sometimes multiple times, to continue with the application. Performing a hard refresh (Control + F5 or Shift + Command + R) of the page may help as well. Also, you may need to clear the cookies and cache on your computer to complete the application.

 

Please note, our software is not compatible with smartphones or tablets.

 

 

Application Link Doesn't Work

Received an application link via email and it doesn't work? Return to www.rev.com/freelancers from a laptop or computer and re-enter your information exactly as you did the first time. You will be able to continue with your application from there.

 

 

Can't Agree to Service Agreement

Trouble with the service agreement? Make sure that your browser view settings are 90% or 100% and refresh the page. Please scroll all the way down through the agreement before clicking on the Continue box. If that doesn't work, try switching to the Opera browser.

 

The agreement text (inside the box on the submission page) must be scrolled all the way down to the very bottom of the textbox before the checkbox can be ticked and the agreement can be submitted. Not the page itself in the browser, but the actual agreement within the text box:

Status of Application

Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email from us. This can take a few weeks or a few months, depending on project availability. We don't have a specific timeframe to share with you, but we keep all applications on file until we make a final decision. We appreciate your patience, and we will email you to let you know if you have been accepted or rejected.

 

If your application was rejected, we're unable to provide specific feedback as to why Rev chose not to move forward with the submitted application. If you're interested in reapplying, you may do so after the 45-day waiting period.

 

You are not able to sign in to Rev after applying until such time as your application may get approved, and you are invited to complete your account registration.

ID Verification

At Rev, we want to create great work-from-home opportunities for Revvers, and part of this is actively working to bring in more and larger customers so there’s plenty of projects available to our freelancers. We want the world’s largest companies to be able to trust Rev. For this reason, we require that all freelancers go through the ID verification process before they are able to access customer files.
